What is a burpy bib, and how is it different from a regular bib?
A burpy bib is two things in one: a bib and a burp cloth. Drape it over your shoulder as a no-slip burp cloth while burping, then snap it around your baby's neck as a full-coverage bib at feeding time.
It covers more of your baby's chest and shoulders than a regular bib, and it takes up less room in the diaper bag.
What are Kiddie Kips burpy bibs made of?
They're made from soft, breathable, 4-layer organic cotton muslin. The open weave is gentle on delicate skin, soaks up drool and spit-up, and gets softer every time you wash it.
Are muslin burpy bibs safe for newborns and sensitive skin?
Yes. Muslin is naturally breathable and gentle, so it's a good fit for newborns and babies with sensitive or eczema-prone skin. The open weave lets air move through to help prevent overheating and irritation while staying soft against the skin.
Our fabrics are OEKO-TEX Standard 100 certified, so every part is tested for harmful substances.
Just remember to take the bib off before naps and bedtime.
How do I use a burpy bib?
You can use it two ways: over your shoulder as a burp cloth while burping, or snapped at the neck as a bib for feeding, teething, and mealtime.
It also comes in handy as a quick cover for tummy time and messes on the go.
What age is a burpy bib for? Will it last more than one stage?
It's made to last from the newborn days through toddlerhood. The same bib sees you through early spit-ups, teething drool, and messy self-feeding.
How many burpy bibs do I need?
Most parents keep about 8 to 10 on hand, especially in the early months when feeds and spit-ups happen around the clock. They wash and dry quickly, so there's always a clean one nearby.
We'd keep one in the nursery, one in the diaper bag, and a spare in the wash.
How do I wash and care for them?
They're easy to look after. Machine wash cold on a gentle cycle with like colors, then tumble dry low or hang to dry. Skip the bleach and fabric softener.
Muslin actually gets softer with every wash and holds onto its absorbency over time.
